Barengo lies at fit of a fertile hill where they are growing valuable sorts of grapes that are the base of local renowned wine. It is predominantly flat territory which is dedicated to the production of rise and maize owing to numerous flows. Of the longbards origin, Barengo is overlooked by the 15th century castle that was reconstructed at the end of the 19th century. The S. Maria of the Countryside, the San Rocco and the San Clement churches are turning out to be particularly interesting. The last two maintain valuable frescos (among which a cycle of Giovanni Maria De Rumo of Oleggio of XVI century ); the Parish church of Assunta of 1345, that was enlarged in 1640 and had been restored during the following ages.
