Bogogno is a small village in the heart of woods, meadows, farmed fields and vineyards, dedicated to farming and crafts. The first historical news on Bogogno date back to 962 and talked about a village, maybe fortified, that the Emperor Otto I donated to the priests of Saint Jules. It is known as “Town of wine” and it is here that one of the most prestigious golf courses in Europe is located. Bogogno’s old passion for grapes growing and wine making is experiencing an exceptionally favourable period thanks to a good quality production.
The frescoes in the rural oratory of Saint James dated back to 1473 and those in the oratory of Saint Mary in Valle are remarkably beautiful. The Bono palace, a neoclassical building, is worth a visit. Patron saint: Saint Rocco – Patron saint day 16th August
Bogogno Town Hall: piazza dott. Orazio Palombo, 5 – ph. +39 0322 808805
